Rustic Summer Wedding in Crested Butte, Colorado

WEDDING — June 2023
Meghan & Jules crafted their wedding weekend to be reminiscent of a mountain getaway. They chose the cutest luxury lodge in one of their favorite places, Crested Butte, to host their loved ones for the week.
I joined their festivities the day before the wedding. We took a winding road to an alpine lake for an afternoon of picnicking and paddleboarding. I was stoked when I got to paddle myself out for some optimal angles. The sun sparkled on the water and kissed everyone’s faces, adding to the magic of the moment.
The following day was the wedding. It was peak wildflower season, and yellow + purple petals decorated the landscape. Tall aspens gave way to a stunning mountain view at the ceremony site, where everyone laughed and cried and sipped champagne. We were even visited by three golden retrievers hiking by.
We took a scenic detour on the way to cocktail hour, which led us down the hillside and into town. People honked and yelled “congratulations!” as they drove by us. We were greeted by even more cheering when Meghan and Jules rejoined their guests at the lodge. Friends and family swarmed them in celebration.
The night continued with feasting, dancing, and singing, including a guest performance by the bride herself. The band played acoustic 2000’s throwbacks as people boogied down. We snuck away just long enough for Meghan and Jules to frolic the moonlit streets of Crested Butte. An appropriate ending to a movie-like night.
